Count characters, words, hashtags and mentions in a caption; see what each platform cuts off before “more”, and copy a version whose blank lines survive Instagram.
- Paste the caption.
- Check the counts and what shows before “more” on each platform.
- Copy with blank lines kept, or move the hashtags to the end.
Instagram captions can be 2,200 characters with up to 30 hashtags, but the feed shows about 125 characters before “more”. Put the hook first.
TikTok allows 4,000 characters, X 280, Threads 500, LinkedIn 3,000 (about 210 show before “see more”), YouTube titles 100 and descriptions 5,000.
Instagram removes plain empty lines. The copy button replaces each one with an invisible character so your paragraphs keep their spacing.
